Automakers Would Be Prevented From Hiring Former Safety RegulatorsFor too nice to break the link "between government officials and former NHTSA auto industry, U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer has proposed a bill that prevents the old car manufacturers safety regulations. This bill seeks solve the problems of Toyota Motor Corp.. the apparent influence on the decisions of the withdrawal of the government. The bill means that Boxer NHTSA officials who had jobs that require written or oral communications with the agency be allowed to join the Manufacturers of three years after leaving the agency. Boxer, a California Democrat who chairs a committee that oversees transportation policy, said his legislation requires automakers to have an undue influence on the decisions of the agency. In the last decade, regulators who have been hired former Toyota helped end at least four investigations into allegations of unintended acceleration United States. Court and government documents obtained show last February that Toyota has avoided the recalls with the help of these employees.
