When you have Flash installed and ClickToFlash, Flash object will not be executed unless clicked on, thus Flash takes no CPU cycles unless needed.

Btw, to quote someone, just press the Image (http://images.macrumors.com/vb/images/buttons/quote.gif) button.
To quote several posts, use the Image (http://images.macrumors.com/vb/images/buttons/multiquote_off.gif) button (multi-quote).
To edit your posts, use the Image (http://images.macrumors.com/vb/images/buttons/edit.gif) button.
All these buttons are on the bottom right of the posts.
Thanks for the multiquote tip! Didn't know about that.
I used to have click to flash on my old MBP, but ideally I just don't want to bother with it, at all. I have found another way, however, to dl youtube videos.
Go to Window > Activity. Under the heading for the YouTube page there will be two sections titled "about:blank." Expand the first one, and double-click while holding the option key on the link that looks something like this:
http://v15.lscache3.c.youtube.com/videoplayback?sparams=id%2Cexpire%2Cip%2Cipbits%2Citag%2Calgorithm%2Cburst%2Cfactor%2Coc%3AU0hPSVRLV 19FSkNOOV9MRUFH&fexp=903809&algorithm=throttle-factor&itag=18&ipbits=0&burst=40&sver=3&signature=0D67D3B81049BF7C42101403CB50C5FB8217F50C.5497AFB6D4CC82930CEDC082DF1C5386FFDD0B6B&expire=1304409600&key=yt1&ip=0.0.0.0&factor=1.25&id=5054da5e91720807
The mp4 file should start downloading right there. I use the YouTube5 extension and this method has never failed me.
Gotcha, thanks. I found this Safari 5 extension that seems to do a great job:

I'll attach the drive to the PC and see if there are any permissions issues. It will be next week before I have access to my friend's PC again.

One of my friends had a used one for awhile. They're actually quite terrible, lol. I think they were released in 1996 in the U.S. and fewer than 50,000 units sold. Only 18 games were released.
The worst part was that "Apple Jack" controller. Worst. Idea. Ever.

I've been a PC user all my life...until yesterday. I just bought my first Mac. Now I want to know if there is any way that I can move my iTunes library from my PC to my PowerBook without having to rip all of my cds again.
I moved the actual song files onto my iPod in hard drive mode and then copied them to my PowerBook, but now my PowerBook will not let me import those songs into iTunes.
Suggestions? Am I SOL?
Actually, you only need to copy your whole library to the iPod's hard drive portion, then drag the entire folder to the iTunes icon on your Mac. iTunes will automatically look for songs to copy and add them to your library as needed.

No, you can't "force" such a thing. No one knows for certain when Lion will be released. Note that there is a Lion forum (http://forums.macrumors.com/forumdisplay.php?f=152), where answers to your Lion-related questions will be found.

Hmm... I think you're right on this one, and you do need the \ before the space, otherwise it'll treat "Folder" as an argument, and not as part of the name of "System Folder" which could be a real problem if Folder is a valid argument.

Hi,
Bonus points normally appear straight away. However, you'll need to complete 10 units with at least an 80% success rate before you will start receiving them. (those first 10 units won't ever receive a bonus)
Anyway, congratulations on your first unit. The bonus points will soon start rolling in!

I'd say go with the 13". You can use the extra cash to put in a SSD and more RAM. Makes the computer EXTREMELY fast when opening up applications. It doesn't sound like you are doing anything graphics heavy unless when it comes to your physics work.
Also, you could use the money to get a cinema display off craigslist or something so when you come home, you can attach it to the big boy. :)
I'm majoring in marketing btw and I don't see the difference to econ to be that much. But, physics is something else. Ask someone on College Confidential for help with that!

We know the next MBA will have a better cpu. But we also suspect it'll have a weaker gpu.
There's also the chance the next MBA will have a backlit keyboard.
There's a solid chance the price points will remain the same.
For me, I'll keep my current 11" 128/2 11" air and see what the test on the next revision show. If the graphics performance is only equal or less than then my model, AND the backlit keyboard is still MIA, then I'll gladly keep my current model.

Whilst it's hardly the prettiest machine in the world (or maybe the thinest) this laptop (http://www.mobilityguru.com/2005/12/05/ati_mobility_radeon_x1600/page4.html) as this new chip. It'd imagine that Apple could better this in terms of thinness and still use this GPU.

The TiBook is due an overhaul sometime next month I would have thought...... although I know exactly what you mean about revisions just after buying... it's happened to me with a beige G3....... :(
the best time to buy is exactly after a revision is released, then you pretty much know you'll be safe for 6 months...... :)

As a peripheral survivor of Hurricanes Hugo, Fran, and Floyd, among others, I think the big things that people learn are:
1. Don't build TOO close to the shore. There's simply way too much footage of ber-expensive beach houses falling into the water when a storm erodes away the sand from underneath the house.
2. Design and build for a hurricane environment. My aunt and uncle live on Masonboro Sound in Wilmington, and the windows of their house are protected by permanently installed hurricane shutters which they leave up most of the time... if a hurricane is coming, all my uncle has to to is spend 10 minutes walking around the house and knocking out the supports for each shade... the shutter falls down and locks into place (unlocking it and putting the shutter back up is quite a bit more work). Also, the entire house is built on a full slab, on top of which there is an 8-foot high layer of brick and concrete before the house proper. With this design, they went through Floyd, Isabel, and a few other storms with ZERO damage.
3. Don't build in a flood plain. This is good advice ANYWHERE, although some people are obviously too stupid to heed it.
