I'm on H4. I have got an offer from a company and they will do my H1
I have few questions
1)How easy it is to transfer H1's to another company? What documents I need?
The process of trasfer is same as applying new H1. Only thing you need paystubs from the existing employer to trasfer H1.
2)Is it possible to convert back to h4? I have 2 kids so I might have to convert back to H4 from h1 if I cannot take the stress.

I got my receipt numbers for I 485,I131 and I 765.
i got them by calling USCIS yesterday.
Mailed on:June 28th
Received date:June 29th at NSC
Notice date:July 23rd.

No, once your GC is approved, her H-4 is invalid. You have to use Follow to Join, no other choice.
Ok Guru's I am in an awkward situation. My GC got approved some time in Aug 2008. But before the approval of my GC my wife in india applied for H4 visa based on my H1b. The consulate approved her H4 and stamped it on her passport last month. Even though I am on GC now. i have files I-824 for her Follow to Join.
Now the question I have is.
1- Can she travel to US on that H4 (the visa stamp is valid till 2010)?
2- If the CBP agents at the aiport let her in the country can I file for her I-485 and have her wait here on AOS?
Let me know what you guys think. On mountain crossed and still more hills keep coming.

I thought the same about the officer . Now , am in the second category..Have an H1 but my i94 is on H4 stamping ..I hold an Indian passport , do you know if i should get the H1 stamping (first time stamping) in India or can i conveniently get it done in Canada?
So what I understand is that your I 797 (H1 approval) does not have attached I94 at the bottom.
If that is the case, you have two options:
1. File for Change of status with USCIS and then they will send you new I 797 with attached I 94. (you will need your attorney to do this for you).
2. Get H1 stamped on the passport (peferably in India as this is your first H1 stamping).
After that you can get your SS card.

I had 1 year contract for employment and I was not paid regularly. Also they were deducting money for health insurance which I didnot receive.
So I left company and they didnot pay me money. I had one year contract or 10000 USD fine.
iI donot work for them since 2005. I have time sheet signed by client and email from vendor to confirm that they paid my money to employer.
Can i go to labor and complain ? Will they ask me to pay back 10k ?

On the same lines, I have a question...My H1B is expiring on Apr 22 (some how with previous approvals and transfers I didn't get a 3 + 3) and Apr 22 will mark 5 years + 1 month of my H1B stay in the US. I have an approved 140 and my AOS is pending. One attorney has convinced me of a 3 yr extension and though she's expensive, I decided to go with her services as two other attorneys didn't guarantee me a 3 yr extn as I'm still into my 6 year now and have not completed 6 full yrs on H1B. Qn is, will I get a 3 yr extension (based on my approved 140) or a 11 months extension now? My PD is Feb 2006.

Im in the same boat as you. I just bought a D70 and it came with almost the same exact len kit. Ive had lots of fun/luck witht he 70-300mm at my kids softball games. I got some great shots of the kids at the plate , running, fielding etc...
Back to your original question....I just bought a magazine this week by ShutterBug - Digital Photography How-To Guide. One of the articles is about choosing the next lens for your digital SLR. Well worth the price for us rookies :p

I have no experience at all with SLR cameras, and have recently bought a bundle consisting of a Nikon D50 and a Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED AF-S Dxlens. Now I am interested in buying another lens (The Nikon 70-300mm f/4-5.6 AF Zoom Lens) in hope that these two lenses would suit my needs in amateur photography. I intend to photo landscapes, portraits and some ''macro'' (flowers and some insects). So, I would like to know if these lenses are an acceptable choice, having in mind that I can't afford to buy some expensive lenses, as my average monthly salary almost amounts to the price of these cheap ones.
