Bose makes the best speakers for computers
no highs? no lows? go with bose...
I gotta disagree with you, man.
Creative iTrigue 3400 2.1 (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0006GYNPQ/qid=1100674226/sr=8-9/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i9_xgl23/104-0311868-3391146?v=glance&s=electronics&n=507846)
i went to the store and checked out these speakers, and although they aren't *quite* as good as the klipsch's they come real damn close, and look damn nice too. I'm surprised nobody suggested them..

Just to alleviate everyone's concerns, this issue is NOT present in the Panther preview. I tried setting a 9-character password, and the login window did not take the 8-character version.

best advice- talk to an insurance agent who knows the details of their plans and what is avail. No one on here can speak accurately as all plans as they all work different for diff companies.
I would start with your parents agent.

Sorry I couldn't help it.
I have been watching the price of Apple stocks and they are down $20 from last week when I almost bought a single share. Glad I didn't though. If I get this job today or tomorrow I think I will buy one or two shares while it's sagging.

I have a Blue/white G3 at home and I need to upgrade, but can't afford to get what I would really like (a G5). I have 21" apple monitor, keyboard and mouse. And, I use all the graphics software: Quark, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. Does anyone think this the lowest model of the mini macs is a good purchase for a couple of years? I know it will be out of date quicker than some of my other options. But, my monitor is really good, so I think I shouldn't go the emac or imac route. Any suggestions or thoughts out there? I appreciate it.
I have a Mini, and I love it. I am not a graphics guy, and can't attest to the Mini's power at photoshop, but I do push the Mini to it's limits from time to time. I would sugest going to the Apple store and using one to see if it works for you. I'm not sure what the specs are for your G3 Video card, but this is the only Achiles heal to the Mini. It sounds like the new units are shipping (soon, if not now), and I think they have upgraded video cards. This might be just what you need (until you can save $$ for a PM). If you buy the Mini, beef up the RAM- it makes such a difference in performance.

Is there any reason you can't figure out how to use copy paste from the screenshot within preview?

What could I have done differently to achieve better scale?
You do it here http://forums.macrumors.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=282021&stc=1&thumb=1&d=1303178540
In this picture the mountain looks a lot bigger and the eye is drawn to it like your going along a path to its base.

Because you want to integrate Flash and PDF, I would say that Adobe Encore is your tool of choice. Apple's DVD studio pro is also popular, but Encore supports embedded computer data, flash, etc.

Hi guys,
I've just reset my dad's iPhone and synced it with his Exchange account, since all the contacts are there. The issue is that the default way of adding contacts to the iPhone (via the recent calls or the dialer) saves the contacts locally.
Is there any good way to have the contacts saved by default to the Exchange instead?
On a side note, opening the contacts and adjusting it slightly is very slow.
Thanks in advance!

Yes! Macbook Air
See: http://www.adiumx.com/sparkle/?forceShow[]=model#model
When you expand the OS Version section on that website, there is a section for 10.6 users. Why's this...??? 10.6 hasn't even been released???

Now, once iPhoto has opened/launched, will it operate any faster or smoother if iPhoto is installed on a ssd vs. if it was on a hdd?
Probably not. If your iPhoto library is anything like my iPhoto library -- it would eat up 1/2 of a 256 gig SSD. Same with my iTunes library. And my movies folder.
So your iPhoto library will have to be on the platter drive.
Same people who talk about their "tons of Aperture work with RAW files" -- well those files wont be fitting on a 256 gig SSD.

Okay, so I've restored the drive to one partition, but now when i try to download the window support software I get an error message telling me "the support software is not available".
Surely it's not usually this difficult?
Oh - that's been a bug that's been around since they allowed for direct download. For some reason it simply doesn't work. You have to use the software located on your Snow Leopard disk. (Or disk 1 of the grey disks you got with your computer). You do this from the Windows side after you install XP. Note that the most recent models do not support XP because the component manufacturers didn't release drivers.
